Welcome to the Waterwise Auditing course. This online training module has been created for the Waterwise Council program by the Water Corporation. The Waterwise Council program has been developed by the Water Corporation and the Department of Water in cooperation with the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) - Local Governments for Sustainability. The aim of the program is to build a cooperative working relationship with local governments in Western Australia to improve water use efficiency in local government and their communities. Completion of this training module is a requirement to be endorsed as a Waterwise Council. Upon completing this course, participants will have sufficient water auditing skills to analyse and report on water use at simple, non-residential sites. Participants will also have the necessary information and skills to scope out tenders and requests for quotes for more complex sites as well as the ability to review water efficiency audits carried out by consultants or contractors.
The online course consists of a quick introduction, and then three learning modules each of approximately 30 minutes. The modules need not be all completed in one sitting, but they should be completed in the order presented.
There are notes at the start of each module which explain which of the available downloads should be accessed before the module is undertaken. Participants will benefit from following these instructions.
A short examination can then be completed online. The pass mark for the test if 80%. The test can be carried out in open book format. There is no time limit for the test, nor is there any need for the test to be supervised.
A certificate will be issued upon the successful completion of the course.
Thank you for your interest in water efficiency auditing and the Waterwise Council program. We hope you enjoy the course.
